1.) I’m a single mom, homeschooling for the first time and also maintaining a full time job. I know there are many other single mothers out there who are attempting homeschooling on top of the other unique demands of raising a family alone. This curriculum is invaluable in keeping me organized. I do supplement it and alter it a bit here and there, but it is complete in and of itself and the kids really enjoy the hands-on activities and the unit study approach. When life gets way too demanding for me to customize or expand on the lesson plan - at least I still have a lesson plan!
2.) While it is complete in and of itself (just add Math, Write Source, Easy Grammar, and a science and history textbook of your choice to use as a reference), it is still highly configurable.
3.) Teaches history chronologically and makes use of “living books”.
4.) Uses a unit study approach and is optimized for multi-level teaching - another plus for a first time homeschooling mom, single mom, or an overstressed budget.
5.) It’s extremely inexpensive compared to other unit-study curricula (Weaver, SonLight) of the same caliber. Current price range is $50-$75 depending on the year. There are 4 years to choose from and each year is designed to be repeated at higher grade levels. Covers Primary through High School.
6.) It’s a Christian curriculum."
