"Hi, I wanted to comment on the Building Spelling Skills Program by Christian Liberty Press. We've used CLP Spelling for going on 5 years now for three of our children. We had some trouble for a while,because the words were difficult for them to understand.. This solution my husband came up with
has tremendously increased their spelling, writing, and dictionary skills. There are 5 lessons, so this is how we break it down:
Day 1: Look up, define, and write down the first 5 words in
notebook.Complete Lesson 1.
Day 2:5 words & Lesson 2
Day 3:5 words & Lesson 3
Day 4:5 words & Lesson 4
Day 5: Final Test
We don't make them write each word twice, like they suggest- just once. By writing the definitions, they gain an understanding of the words, and it helps them in both their writing skills and dictionary
skills.Also, being that it's only 5 words a day, it's not too much for them (or for them to complain about!) It worked for us!I'm impressed also with the focus on the rules of phonics.They help the children
greatly.All in all,I've found CLP to be an excellent spelling program." H. L.
"I wanted to add a few words about the Christian Liberty Press materials that you offer: I have been absolutely THRILLED with all of the materials I have purchased from Christian Liberty Press. Their books are wonderful, wholesome books from a Christian perspective. It is so nice to place a book in your children’s hands and not have to question the content! We use the Bible, History and Science book(s). I had a few of the history books and HAD to order the rest of the elementary grade ones. I just love them! The Bible curriculum is the BEST I and my friends have come across for the price. They are all simple to use, easy to teach with and the price is right!
