"This is the BEST spelling curriculum!! Because it is used from 2nd to 12th grade, the cost is very economical. The child is given a rule and then asked to spell words that use that rule. They only "study" the words that they miss. Why waste your time working on words you already know how to spell? This program is extremely successful especially considering the small amount of time needed to do each lesson. The CD rom compliments the program making it more fun for the student as they are learning. You will want to purchase the activity task cards as well to go with this program. "I would HIGHLY recommend Spelling Power by Beverly Gordon. As a first-year home-schooling mom, I was nervous (and overwhelmed!) by the curriculum choices available. After researching several different spelling programs, I chose Spelling Power, and I am delighted with my choice! With Spelling Power the student takes a short "test" every day (which helps to alleviate the weekly "spelling test anxiety"). The daily tests give the student immediate credit for words already learned and allow the student to instantly recognize and "re-learn" any incorrectly spelled words. Misspelled words are then re-tested each day until they are mastered. I really like this program, and by using Spelling Power, my fourth-grader can actually spell "chauffeur!"
