" This is a little book that teaches 13 rules of phonics and 11 some odd rules for Spelling. It is much easier to teach and learn than some more complicated programs out there. The student does timed drills daily of reading lists of words that are connected by similar phonics and spelling rules. This is probably the way that many of our great-grandparents learned to read and spell many years ago. (aka. Eclectic Progressive Spelling Book from the Original McGuffey's published by Mott Media) With the worksheets that go with Victory Drill, this can be a complete spelling/phonics program although a chart showing the phonograms would also be nice. We like this because it is simple and it only takes 5-10 minutes ( no more) a day. Actually, it could be used without timing the reading although this is not how the author intended that it be used!"
